The central government has announced a new Urban Mobility Policy aimed at reducing traffic congestion and improving commuter experience in metropolitan areas. Officials stated that the policy encourages states to adopt integrated transport planning, expand metro connectivity and improve last-mile connectivity through electric mobility solutions. Implementation guidelines are expected to be issued to state authorities in the coming weeks.
